Kuwait-based carrier Jazeera Airways has announced the resumption of its commercial flight operations to and from Lahore via Al-Qaisumah Airport, restoring an important travel link between Pakistan and the Gulf region.
According to the airline, the service will officially restart on March 29, with two weekly flights scheduled to operate on Sundays and Wednesdays. The resumption comes as part of broader efforts to rebuild connectivity and facilitate travel for passengers between Pakistan and Kuwait.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Zafar Iqbal, welcomed the development, praising the airline’s commitment to restoring services despite operational challenges. He noted that the resumed route would significantly benefit the large Pakistani expatriate community residing in Kuwait, many of whom rely on affordable and accessible travel options to visit their families.
The airline’s chief executive officer also described the move as a key milestone in reconnecting the two countries. He emphasized that the restored flights would enable thousands of passengers to reunite with loved ones or return to Kuwait for work and other commitments. The service is expected to play a crucial role in easing travel demand that has built up over recent months.
Under the current travel arrangement, passengers will complete their pre-departure procedures at the airline’s designated registration center located at the Mishref International Fairgrounds in Kuwait. After check-in formalities are completed at Hall No. 8, travelers will be transported by bus to Al-Qaisumah Airport, from where they will board their flights to Lahore. This integrated travel model is designed to streamline passenger handling and improve operational efficiency.
Al-Qaisumah Airport has increasingly become a strategic transit hub for the airline’s regional operations. At present, Jazeera Airways operates flights from the airport to several international destinations, including the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Sri Lanka, India, and Pakistan. The airline has indicated plans to gradually expand its network further, adding new routes and increasing flight frequencies in response to growing demand.
Tickets for the Lahore route are now available for booking through the airline’s official website and mobile application. Industry observers believe that the relaunch of this route could strengthen travel ties between Pakistan and Kuwait while offering passengers more flexible and cost-effective travel options.
The resumption of flights also reflects a broader recovery trend in the aviation sector, as airlines continue to restore routes and expand services following earlier disruptions. With a steady increase in passenger demand and improved connectivity, Jazeera Airways aims to position itself as a key player in regional travel between South Asia and the Middle East.
As operations resume, travelers are advised to stay updated on schedules, travel requirements, and booking procedures to ensure a smooth journey.
