Motorola Edge 70 Fusion Review: Massive Battery, Powerful Performance, and Premium Design

Motorola Edge 70 Fusion
Motorola continues to expand its presence in the competitive smartphone market with the launch of the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion, a mid-range device designed to fix some of the issues seen in earlier Motorola phones. In the past, users often criticized Motorola for inconsistent software updates and average camera performance. With the Edge 70 Fusion priced around ₹25,000, the company aims to deliver a more balanced smartphone experience with stronger hardware, improved cameras, and a much larger battery.
Premium Design with Strong Durability
The Edge 70 Fusion follows Motorola’s eco-friendly packaging approach and introduces a stylish design. The device features a vegan leather back panel, but instead of the traditional smooth texture, it has a canvas-like finish that gives it a unique and premium feel.
One of the standout design elements is the Pantone Blue Surf color, part of Motorola’s collaboration with Pantone to create carefully curated color options. Despite carrying a huge battery, the phone remains lightweight at around 193 grams, making it comfortable for everyday use.
Durability is another strong point. The device comes with military-grade certification, along with IP68 and IP69 water resistance, which means it can withstand dust, splashes, and even high-pressure water exposure. The display is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, providing better resistance against scratches and accidental drops.
Large AMOLED Display with Smooth Refresh Rate
The smartphone features a 6.78-inch quad-curved AMOLED display with extremely thin bezels, achieving an impressive 96.2% screen-to-body ratio. The panel supports up to 144Hz refresh rate, although it typically runs at 120Hz to maintain power efficiency. The highest refresh rate is automatically enabled for supported games and applications.
The display also supports HDR video playback, delivering deeper contrast and vibrant colors when watching content on platforms like YouTube. Brightness levels are strong enough for outdoor visibility, even under direct sunlight.
For multimedia lovers, the phone includes stereo speakers that produce loud audio with clear dialogue and noticeable bass, enhancing the overall entertainment experience.
Massive 7,000mAh Battery and Strong Performance
One of the biggest highlights of the Edge 70 Fusion is its 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, a significant upgrade compared to previous models. This battery easily lasts more than a full day with heavy usage and can stretch close to two days with moderate use.
The phone supports 68W fast charging, allowing it to reach a full charge in roughly 45 minutes.
Performance is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. In benchmark tests, the device scores around 1.13 million points on AnTuTu, showing solid mid-range performance. Motorola has also added a vapor cooling chamber to keep temperatures stable during gaming and heavy tasks.
Improved Camera System
The Edge 70 Fusion uses the Sony LYT‑710 Camera Sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) for the main camera. Daylight photos appear sharp with accurate colors, while low-light images show good detail and improved exposure.
Motorola’s collaboration with Pantone also enhances color accuracy in photos. The phone includes an interesting feature that allows users to create a personalized AI color style by uploading images with their preferred aesthetic.
For video recording, the smartphone supports 4K recording at 30fps, along with a Horizon Lock stabilization feature in 1080p mode. The 13MP ultra-wide camera can also function as a macro lens for close-up photography.
Software Experience and Updates
The device runs Hello UI based on Android 15, offering smooth animations and multiple customization options. Motorola has also introduced Moto AI features, including notification summaries and AI-generated wallpapers.
Motorola promises three years of Android updates and five years of security patches, which improves long-term software support.
Final Verdict
Overall, the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion delivers a strong combination of premium design, large battery, smooth display, and capable cameras. With its hardware upgrades and improved software support, the smartphone positions itself as a solid all-rounder in the mid-range segment.
